About The RESTORE Method™
Why RESTORE Feels Different
Most approaches to emotional intelligence focus on understanding emotions. RESTORE focuses on helping you navigate them.
The RESTORE Method™ turns emotional awareness into practical action so you can respond with more clarity, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful connection in everyday life.
This isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about learning the skills to move through life’s challenges with greater confidence, compassion, and intention.
About Julia Barstow
Helping People Build Stronger Relationships and Deeper Connections
Julia Barstow is the Founder of RESTORE™ and creator of The RESTORE Method™, a practical framework designed to help people navigate emotional storms, strengthen relationships, and create deeper connection in everyday life.
Her professional background spans leadership, business operations, event management, and community organizations, including more than 15 years managing for-profit companies and another decade leading and supporting nonprofit work.
Throughout those experiences, one question continued to emerge:
Why do some people navigate challenges and relationships successfully while others struggle, even when they deeply care about the people around them?
That question sparked years of study in psychology, restorative practices, communication, emotional intelligence, and human connection.
Julia earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. She later became a licensed trainer through the International Institute for Restorative Practices and completed certifications in Breakthrough Parenting, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and Mindfulness for Youth.
In 2020, the pandemic changed the landscape of schools and communities and delayed much of the work she had planned to bring into local education spaces. A few years later, after moving to Pismo Beach and rebuilding the community from the ground up, she experienced firsthand how the principles she had spent years studying became essential tools for creating belonging and meaningful connection.
That experience reshaped her understanding of this work.
She realized these skills were not only valuable in schools or workplaces. They were essential life skills that help people move through challenges with more awareness, stronger relationships, and greater connection.
That realization became The RESTORE Method™.
Today, through RESTORE, Julia helps individuals, organizations, and communities develop practical relationship skills that support calmer responses, healthier communication, and a stronger sense of belonging.
In addition to her professional work, she serves on the boards of the Pismo Beach Chamber of Commerce and Five Cities Newcomers and is a sworn advisor for the City of Pismo Beach, reflecting her ongoing commitment to community, education, and helping people thrive.
Her belief is simple: when people learn to better understand themselves and connect more intentionally with others, they improve not only their relationships but the way they experience life.
